A firm favourite with coach parties and visitors to the town and winner of the best market in the country 2007, Dewsbury Market is a superb destination for a day out. Coaches from across the North head for Dewsbury Market every week filled with avid shoppers who return regularly to sample the delights of this famous market.

    Market Hall
Open: Monday to Saturday (1/2 day Tuesday) 8.30am to 4pm
This fabulous Victorian Market Hall, which celebrated its centenary in 2004, was the focal point of trading in the town when it was built. When it became full the open market grew up around it. Today it is home to 38 permanent market stalls and is famed for its extensive range of fine foods and produce. Fresh meat and dairy produce, flowers, clothing and household items, ensure the Market Hall is as popular now as it was when it was built over 100 years ago.

    Open general Market
Held Wednesday and Saturday 9am to 4.30pm
Still the largest and most renowned open market in Yorkshire, Dewsbury's fabulous open market boasts over 300 stalls on general market days. Meander through the aisles and you can be sure to find almost everything you need and many things you never knew you needed. With a range of goods to rival any supermarket, at real value for money prices, Dewsbury market truly is shopping at its very best.

    Friday Second-Hand Market, 9am to 3.30pm
Whilst not on the grand scale of the general market days, the second-hand market still has a tantalising array of goods with around 100 stalls each week, a bargain hunter's paradise.

Sunday Car 'Bootless' Sale, 6am to 12.30pm
'One man's trash is another man's treasure' and this is certainly so at this market. Crowds flock here each Sunday searching for that bargain hidden amongst the thousands of items on sale. If you love browsing and hunting out valuables then what better way to spend your Sunday morning? Or why not come along with your unwanted items and leave with an empty boot and full wallet? Stall prices are £15 each, set-up from 6am on any available stall.
All goods on sale at the Car Boot Sale must be secondhand. Sellers of new goods will be asked to leave.
Please note we can no longer accept any cash payments on any of our Markets, payment is by card payment only.

    Become a trader?
Casual traders should arrive from 8am on the day you want to attend and register at the main office where you will be allocated an available stall.
