  1. Gregory Fields Tennis Club is a small, friendly club which has 3 floodlit, porous macadam courts, a modern clubhouse with a kitchen, common room, toilets and showers. There is easy access for people with disabilities including into the toilet and shower areas.

    New members are always welcome.

The general rule is that visitors may play for 3 sessions before deciding whether to join the club or not. However, please discuss your requirements with us as we are keen to be flexible and the bottom line is we want to encourage people to play tennis.

Social tennis for adults happens on Thursday evenings from 7pm and Friday 10.30am to midday. Beginners and new members are always welcome.

There are two men's, two lady's and junior teams in the Huddersfield League. Again, if you are an experienced player, there would be opportunities for you to play competitive tennis.

We also provide tennis opportunities in the school holidays for children to take part in Tennis / sports holiday camps. Kids from all over Huddersfield (and Kirklees) come to take part in our holiday tennis activities. They are open to children who are aged five to twelve years. They run for full or half days during Summer and some half-term holidays. More details are available from our coach Andy Smith.

Coaching can be available for members and non-members from our LTA trained club coach on an individual or group basis for all ages. Individual, group or private tennis lessons can be negotiated with our club coach, details below.

Junior coaching takes place on Sunday mornings.

Our facilities can be available to infant, junior, middle and high schools in the Huddersfield and Kirklees area.

Adults and children can also hire our facilities during the day on a pay-and-play basis.

Pay and Play court hire is available for non-members. Tel Margaret 604581. (Kirklees Passport Holders benefit from a 10% discount.)

For coaching enquiries contact Andy Smith on 07876718968 or by email on

  1. The Club was founded 60yrs ago as Fenay Bridge Tennis Club as that was the location. In 2002 the club moved to its present accommodation; funded with Lottery money and a loan from LTA. Once establisged at the new premises it was decided to change the name of the Club to reflect the new location.Throughout its history the club has been solvent. The club has always had teams in the Huddersfield League. Fees and subs are in line with other clubs of similar size in Huddersfield. A friendly welcome awaits new members.
