  1. Singing For Fun is a group specially for all those people who would love to sing but never thought they could - or never dared!

Our leader, Anthony, firmly believes that everybody can sing - they just need to be encouraged and shown how. We are a mixed group - though we could do with a few more men - mostly aged 50 plus.

We first started meeting in 2008 and now number around 40. Our repertoire is pretty varied, though we don't tackle any of the challenging classical pieces that you would expect to hear from a larger, more formal choral society. We do what it says on the tin - sing for fun.

Singing 4 Fun is in the Social Club from 2pm to 4pm every Wednesday - £5.

Please see the Weekly Meetings section of St Mary's Club website for latest details.

New Evening Singing Group

  1. Wednesday September 25th sees the start of our new evening 'Singing For Fun' group's autumn term. This is a spin-off from our highly successful afternoon group, and is intended for people normally out at work during the day - and anyone else too, of course.

New singing groups always have small beginnings, but the new members who joined us in June are spreading the word among their friends, to help build the group's membership quickly.

The new group meets every Wednesday, 7pm to 9pm. No previous experience or musical knowledge needed. Just come along and sing your heart out!
