Based on the teachings of the founder of the community, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be upon him), we serve humanity in many ways including a wide range of activities that provide disaster relief, medical facilities, energy, education and self-help programmes across the world.

The work of the Huddersfield Association includes blood donation sessions, homeless feeding, charity walks, tree planting and working closely with interfaith and other faith communities etc.

Our motto is 'Love for All, Hatred for None', and we believe that in our daily life we must abide by the values of Loyalty, Freedom, Equality, Respect and Peace, as they help foster a sense of unity, cohesion, harmony and peace the world over.

An historic Conference of World Religions was organised by our community on February 11th 2014 at the Guildhall in London, and a number of people from Huddersfield attended and brought home a much needed message for greater freedom of conscience and an end to extremism.

Around 500 delegates from 26 countries heard religious leaders from all faiths urging their communities to show their support for greater understanding and harmony between faiths.
The conference was organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK, as part of our centenary celebrations. The theme of the event was 'God in the 21st Century'.

Apart from the attendees, the conference also received many messages of support from key figures including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Archbishop of York, the Archbishop of Wales, the Vatican as well as Prime Minister David Cameron.

The worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (the Khalifa of Islam), delivered the keynote address.

Please see our website under The Conference of World Religions for details of the address and other speeches and messages of support.

In a world of tension it was an evening of religious harmony and one that we hope will help us work together to create peace both in Huddersfield and beyond.

History

  1. History image goes here
  2. Since its inception in 1889, the Ahmadiyya Muslim community has been leading a global effort to revive what we see as the true, peaceful message of Islam as taught by the Holy Prophet Muhammed (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

The revival of these teachings was initiated by the founder of the community, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be upon him) , who claimed that under Divine guidance he was the Promised Messiah and the Imam Mahdi.

With this desire for peace, our community has grown and is now established in more than 195 countries with a following of 160 million, and in the UK we are one of the oldest Muslim organisations, established since 1913.
Our current spiritual leader (Khalifa) remains devoted to peace, and in Britain our community continues to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds each year for British charities - this small effort is part of our duty to serve mankind.

We serve humanity in many ways including a wide range of activities that provide disaster relief, medical facilities, energy, education and self-help programmes across the world.

Our motto is 'Love for All, Hatred for None', and we believe that in our daily life we must abide by the values of Loyalty, Freedom, Equality, Respect and Peace, as they help foster a sense of unity, cohesion, harmony and peace the world over.
