  1. Established in 1984, West Yorkshire Print Workshop is the largest open access printmaking facility in Yorkshire. Nestled in the heart of Mirfield, we support, nurture and promote creative talent through the joy of making prints.

We are just 15 mins by car or 8 mins by train from Huddersfield town centre, and our professional studios house facilities for screen printing, etching, linocut, letterpress, photo-lithography and more.

We offer a regular programme of printmaking short courses and workshops, and other related activities including artists talks and exhibitions. In addition there are ten artists studios which are home to professional artists who work in a wide variety of mediums.

We are open to the public (including Gallery Shop open):
    Saturday 10am to 3pm
Wednesday to Friday 11am to 3pm.

We are also open to members Tuesday to Friday 10am–5pm

We also have a unit on the Piazza in Huddersfield which we hold community workshops from time to time.

History

  1. West Yorkshire Print Workshop is a registered charity (1010125) and was founded in 1981 as the Kirklees Arts Space Society. It opened to the public as a gallery space in 1984. In 1995 it became Eastthorpe Visual Arts and adopted its present name, West Yorkshire Print Workshop (WYPW) in 2004. It is a Regularly Funded Organisation of the Arts Council England, Yorkshire. WYPW is based in the former Victorian Church School adjacent to St Paul's Church and is situated in Mirfield town centre.

WYPW exists to support artists and creative businesses. It achieves this through the provision of open access printmaking facilities, affordable studio spaces, exhibiting opportunities for members and specialist printmaking workshops and courses. WYPW also runs a regular programme of general art courses which utilise the skills and specialisms of our studio holders.
