  1. We produce one main musical show per year in June, one pantomime per year in January and in addition we present various concerts/plays and hold social events throughout the year
    .
    Our membership is open to all.

    We are always happy to welcome new members whether on stage, front of house or behind the scenes, for example set building and painting, scene shifting, makeup, wardrobe etc. All of these are essential for a good production.

History

  1. Dewsbury Collegians was founded in 1932 as a singing group at Dewsbury Technical College. The Group progressed and Dewsbury Technical College Operatic Society was born with a production of the Mikado in Dewsbury Town Hall.In 1950 the Society moved to the Dewsbury Empire Theatre for a production of 'New Moon' and stayed there for six productions until the theatre sadly closed and was ultimately demolished.The Society broke away from the College in 1957 and became Dewsbury Collegians AOS. Over the years shows have been performed at Earlsheaton H.S, The Pioneer and Playhouse(ABC) Cinemas and since 1974 Dewsbury Town Hall.In 1968 the first pantomime was performed at Earlsheaton H.S and now every year at Dewsbury Town Hall.
