Young Peoples Activity Team (YPAT)

  1. The Young Peoples Activity Team (YPAT) provide short breaks respite for disabled children and young people aged 5 to 18, with moderate to complex needs..

    Services offered include:

    School holiday playschemes: in all school holidays, except May half term 10am-3pm.

    Weekend clubs: Saturday and Sunday 10am – 3pm.

    Out of school clubs: Monday – Friday during term time, arrival from school until 6.30pm.

    Community Outreach: Monday – Friday during term time, pick up from school and drop off at home 6.30pm.

    Out of School club and Community Outreach costs £10 per session, weekend and holidays are a £5.50 voluntary donation. All services are allocated upon assessed need by Kirklees Children with a Disability Team only.

    The team provides a safe setting where the children and young people can take part in a range of fun and stimulating activities and the opportunity to access a variety of trips.

    YPAT has an experienced team of paid staff and volunteers with training in areas such as positive behaviour support, safeguarding, movement and handling, paediatric first aid, administering gastro feeds and medication, emergency medication, and food safety. All staff and volunteers undergo a DBS check.
