History

  1. A place of worship that has been occupied for over a thousand years. The building today is considered to be the most complete example of a thirteenth century church in West Yorkshire, even though it has undergone many changes. It contains many ancient and interesting features.
We also have a small Family History centre for visitors to view when tracing family graves and records.
The surrounding churchyard is large and attractive and has won several awards. It has information boards and a Heritage Trail to follow.
The church is also on a Township Trail circular walk and Kirkburton village has good amenities for ramblers and walkers and cyclists.
