  1. A family support charity helping families with young children across Kirklees with everyday life challenges. Home-Start Kirklees offers non-judgemental, confidential weekly support for parents in the home or community. Home-Start supports parents/carers with general parenting, parental mental health, isolation, housing, bereavement, SEND, managing family finances etc….

We help families with young children (youngest child needs to be under 5 or in their first term of full time school) to cope with pressures and worries by offering weekly home based support or telephone befriending. Trained and supervised volunteers (peer supporters) are carefully matched to families to offer a much needed listening ear, information, advice and guidance and practical help.

We also offer peer weekly group support sessions for parents at various venues across Kirklees as well as stay and play, family drop in (The Zone) and ESOL classes.
We are currently delivering projects that support dads of infants birth – 2 years (Dad Matters) , oral health (supervised toothbrushing), school readiness and teenage parents 14-18 years.

Office open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4.30pm by contacting 01484 421925 or email info@homestart-kirklees.org.uk
