  1. St Mary's Social Club is a major function, party and conference venue with two well-stocked bars and useful kitchen facilities and a social hub with various weekly activities including dances, Singing for Fun, karate, theatre group, bingo etc

    • The ballroom/auditorium/theatre suitable for a range of social and family parties, large conferences, shows etc and comfortably holds 140 people or more and features a large stage.

    • We also have two other public rooms, which can accommodate different sized groups of up 50 persons for a range of activities.

    • Our Lounge is well used for funeral wakes and Christenings, small family parties and get-togethers.

    • The Green Room Basement, with kitchen and toilets, is newly decorated and is used for coffee mornings, meetings, and of course as a dressing room for theatre productions and stage shows.

    • Upstairs we have an active Dance Studio with full length mirrors and side bars with exclusive toilet facilities.

    • Wireless broadband is available in every room.

    • Plenty of car parking space outside and on street

If you want to change your venue or add a new one please use the postcode / street name field to see a list of venues. This should cover all venues in Kirklees, but if you can’t find the venue you need please contact Community Directory, and we will advise or add it for you.

History

  1. The venue, St. Mary's Parochial Hall, was built in 1935 as the parish hall of St. Mary's R.C.Church. In 1970 the membership organisation now known as St. Mary's Social Club and Parochial Hall was established to manage the building and develop links with the wider community, which become stronger year by year. Since 1992 successful efforts have been made to invest much time and money to refurbish and upgrade the premises and the immediate environs.
