Moonraking Family Poetry Workshop (Slaithwaite)

About the event

with Louise Fazackerley

Families with children age 5 and upwards, join poet and theatre-maker Louise Fazackerley for 2 hours of festival fun.

We'll be calling to the moon, whispering wonderful words and playing lots of games!

During the workshop we'll make lunar-lyrics, and flashmob moves.

These will be performed at the Pedal Power Pop Up Poetry tent at the Moonraking Festival on Saturday 22nd February.

Poet- extraordinaire and theatre maker, Louise Fazackerley, is a font of family fun and word-smithery.

Her poetry shows for families include ‘The Sleepover: a re-imaging of the Princess and the Pea,’ ‘The Woman Who Turned Into An Eyeball’ and ‘Robot Aliens Stole My Ipig.’ She has also written for The Knotted Project’s touring show ‘Out of the Igloo’- the story of three penguins who prefer screen time to going outside on the ice, and Helena Ascough’s ‘The Snow (ish) Queen: nice maiden or ice maiden.’ Louise visits schools and festivals across the UK with the National Literacy Trust, The Poetry Society and The Lowry. As seen and heard on BBC 1, BBC Radio 3,4,5, and in The Guardian.
