Workshops are part of Thread Republic's Pop Up in the Piazza. with a wonderful mix of workshops, sewing machine hire, textile Scrap Store, regular Stitch Socials, film screenings and more!

  • Saturday 22 February 2025 - 12:30pm - 3:00pm, Manx Log Cabin Workshop: create a unique quilt block based on traditional techniques from the Isle of Man. . Tickets £30 + 75p.
  • Monday 3 March 2025 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm, Visible Mending Workshop: learn about all things mending including the history of different mending techniques around the world and use vintage darning tools. Tickets £25 + 63p.
  • Thursday 6 March 2025 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm, Stitched Baskets, Coasters and Placemats Workshop: we'll create baskets using cotton cord, colourful thread and scraps of fabric! This creates a soft but durable basket, coaster or placemat. Tickets £25 + 63p.
  • Saturday 15 March 2025 - 12:30pm - 3:00pm, Introduction to Crochet - We will have a go at the 5 main crochet stitches making a simple purse or scrunchie. Tickets £30 + 75p.
  • Thursday 20 March 2025 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm, Modern Rag Rugging Techniques: a technique traditionally used to turn rags into textural rags. You'll learn two versatile rag rug techniques that can be used to make a piece of wall art, homewares, a brooch or more. Tickets £25 + 63p.
  • Wednesday 23 April 2025 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm, Visible Mending Workshop: learn about all things mending including the history of different mending techniques around the world and use vintage darning tools. Tickets £25 + 63p.
