Dates and venues

  • Wednesday 22 July 2026 - 10:00am - 2:30pm, Withens Clough Heritage Walk - learn about the history and ecology of Withens Clough and the surrounding moorlands. 4.5 miles. Has lunch break. Booking advisable. *Meet at Withens Clough Car Park.
  • Saturday 1 August 2026 - 9:30am - 5:00pm, Black as the Raven - Celebrate Yorkshire Day on a challenging walk to the highest point in West Yorkshire. This is a long hard walk with steep climbs and descents, and some off-path walking. 15 miles. Not suitable for children
  • Sunday 16 August 2026 - 1:30pm - 4:30pm, See the Heather Blooming - Join us on a walk to enjoy the sights and sounds of the moorland in summer. This comfortably paced walk will involve some uphill stretches taken at a speed to suit everyone in the group. 5 miles.
  • Saturday 22 August 2026 - 10:30am - 3:30pm, Marsden Poetry Trail - Immerse yourself in the poetic landscape of the moor, and hear some of the poems it has inspired. 10 miles. Not suitable for children.
