Marsden Moor Estate National Trust has regular led walks of varying difficulty usually on the moors. During the summer some walks may be in the evening.

Dates and venues

  • Saturday 23 February 2019 - 10:00am - 3:30pm, In this 10 mile walk you'll hear how a brewer's family dream of a grouse moor was short lived when Oldham bought the land for water reservoirs.
  • Saturday 13 April 2019 - 9:30am - 5:00pm, Ten reservoir walk - a strenuous 16 mile walk with some steep climbs over the magnificent area of Marsden moor.
  • Saturday 4 May 2019 - 10:00am - 4:00pm, This 10 mile walk takes in West Nab and Shooters Nab with spectacular views over the Wessenden Valley. There are some steep climbs and open moorland walking, No dogs.
  • Saturday 11 May 2019 - 9:30am - 5:00pm, This is a strenuous 17.5 mile linear walk along the Pennine Way from Hardcastle Crags to Marsden Moor, linking the two properties. Mainly on defined paths but with some steep climbs.
  • Saturday 18 May 2019 - 10:00am - 2:00pm, This 7.5 mile walk takes in the northern boundary of the Peak District as well as the Standedge Trail. A moderate walk with some steep climbs.
  • Saturday 29 June 2019 - 9:30am - 4:30pm, An invigorating 16 mile walk, mostly on paths but also incorporating some open moorland walking and hill climbs. Follow these ancient paths with sweeping views on both sides of the Pennines.
  • Saturday 27 July 2019 - 9:30am - 4:30pm, A testing 15 mile moorland walk taking in the three highest points in the area - Pule Hill, Black Hill and West Nab. If you like open moorland walking and sweeping Pennine views this is the walk for you. No Dogs.
  • Saturday 10 August 2019 - 10:00am - 3:30pm, A 9 mile walk with wonderful views of the Wessenden Valley and it's four reservoirs. This is a relatively easy walk with just one steep climb up to the catch water. There are various optional routes back to shorten the walk if required.
  • Sunday 18 August 2019 - 1:30pm - 5:30pm, This is a medium 6 mile walks up to Cupwoth reservoir and hill. But be prepared for a steep climb and some off path walking.
  • Saturday 24 August 2019 - 10:00am - 4:00pm, An invigorating 9.5 mile hill walk with great views of the Pennine landscape. No dogs
