Huddersfield Potato Day & Seed Swap

About the event

Come and get your food growing year off to a great start with this popular annual event for food growers and friends. If you love local food, this event is for you.

Huddersfield Potato Day includes 30 different varieties of seed potato for you to choose from. All tubers are 20p each or £2 for a dozen – pick and mix.

At the Seed Swap you can pick up lots of vegetable and salad seeds, onion sets and sprouted garlic. You can either bring something along to swap or choose what you'd like in exchange for a small donation.

There's also advice on offer about growing your own food, and information about local volunteering opportunities, such as joining in with the Spring seed planting at our community allotment.

The event includes children's craft activities, seed planting and a book stall with all kinds of books.

Local produce including jams and honey will be on sale.

We also have stalls from other local organisations including the Huddersfield and District Bee Keeping Association and Growing Works. Come along to find out more about what they do and how to get involved.

Refreshments are available all morning, including home made cakes, and a hot lunch is served from 12 noon.
