Meltwater - A Musical Response to Climate Change (Huddersfield)

About the event

Meltwater is an immersive performance by Supriya Nagarajan , Duncan Chapman and Sally Ann-Edwards exploring the fragile beauty of melting ice and the emotional realities of climate change.

Through Carnatic voice, trombone, environmental field recordings, live electronics and atmospheric soundscapes, the trio creates a deeply moving journey through loss and renewal. Rather than presenting climate science through facts alone, Meltwater invites audiences to experience climate anxiety through music, encouraging reflection, empathy and connection with the natural world.

As voice intertwines with evolving sonic textures, listeners are immersed in an intimate landscape where sound becomes memory and emotion. Performed live , the work transforms Huddersfield Library into a contemplative listening space, inviting audiences to pause, breathe and consider our shared responsibility for the planet.

Meltwater offers an unforgettable evening where music, environmental storytelling and artistic innovation inspire meaningful conversations about our changing climate and the possibilities of hope, resilience together today.
