About the event
Hudawi Cultural Centre is collaborating with Out of Many People to bring a morning of Black storytelling for children and families to Huddersfield.
There will be two sessions from incredible writer-artists:
11:45am - 12:30pm DRAW ALONG WITH DAPO - interactive storytime and step by step illustration workshop for 5-7 year olds from celebrated author-illustrator DAPO ADEOLA based on his artwork in books like Look Up and Joyful Joyful. Followed by Dapo signing copies of his books.
1:15pm - 2:00pm BREDDA ANSELL'S JAMBOREE - Ansell Broderick's fun-packed interactive and intergenerational session rooted in African Caribbean folk tales, Anansi stories, traditional dance, song and music. Fancy a go on a rhumba box? Want to master the Dinkimini or Kumina dancing? Now's your chance! Tip: great for grandparents, aunts and uncles to share their heritage with younger family members.
Entry is by pay-as-you-can ticket only for each session - early booking advised.
