Talk on local history with Holme Valley Civic Society

About the event

Holme Valley Civic Society with members of Holmfirth Local History Group present a programme of talks, usually on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7.30pm (September to May, except December) at Holmfirth Civic Hall.

Visitors are very welcome to attend (£5 per meeting) or may like to join the Society (£15 includes all meetings in the season).

  • Thursday 19 March 2026 - 7:30pm, Tonight: The Story of Armitage Bridge by John Avison. Visitors £5 on the door, cash only.
  • Thursday 16 April 2026 - 7:30pm, Tonight: Florence Lockwood – Suffragist by Janette Martin & Rebecca Gill. Visitors £5 on the door, cash only.
  • Thursday 21 May 2026 - 7:30pm, Tonight: Titus Salt and Saltaire by Susan Hartley. Visitors £5 on the door, cash only.
