Booking open for Kirklees Summer Play Camp 2026 (school years 4, 5, 6 and 7 )

We are pleased to announce that online booking is open for Kirklees Summer Play Camp 2026!

Last year lots of bookings and spaces were filled up before the summer and we are expecting it to be even more popular this year, so book early to secure a place.

There are 6 camps with dates between 25 July and 19 August. Please click on the link to our website under Further Information for more details and to book.

Camp is for children, school years 4, 5, 6 and 7 and is run by an experienced voluntary organization that is staffed by teachers, and experienced volunteers all of whom are DBS checked.

The camp allows groups of about 75 children to spend 4 days (including 3 nights) in the country. Each of the three nights are spent in tents surrounded by open countryside. The children share 4 person tents, they sleep on roll mats in the cosy inner compartment. Children do not need any special equipment, just sensible clothing, footwear and a sleeping bag (although this can be provided if necessary).

For over 40 years, thousands of children from all over Kirklees have spent their time off from school camping, playing games, and making friends at one of the longest running summer camps in the UK. Children stay at Woolley Edge Scout Camp for 4 days and 3 nights, with 6 camps over the course of the school holiday. The children have a magical time at camp living and playing freely in the outdoors with no electronic games or TV.

The cost of an assisted place for low-income families is £10 and the cost of a full price place is £66.
