Description
Our libraries are Warm Spaces
Warm spaces are friendly and comfortable places where you can keep warm and be with other people. Everyone's welcome.
There are 24 libraries and community hubs across Kirklees. Join for free and borrow books, eBooks, eAudio and more. We also provide help for people to get online and run events and activities for all ages.
We also provide a Home Library Service for residents who find it difficult to get to their local library therefore making reading possible for everyone.

Volunteering opportunities
We would not be able to offer all the wonderful things we do without our brilliant team of volunteers. We are always on the lookout for new volunteers so if you have a spare hour or two and are interested in helping at your local library pleas get in touch.
Kirklees Local Studies Library
We hold a large collection of books, maps, photographs and local newspapers relating to the Kirklees area. We also hold subscriptions to specialist information websites on behalf of customers. There are plenty of resources to help you find information on your family and local history or trace relatives and obtain copies of certificates.
Warm spaces in libraries
Libraries in Kirklees are warm spaces and everyone is welcome. All of our libraries are heated, so are comfortable to stay in for long periods of time. Every building has a range of both comfy seating, and more functional furniture for study or computer use. They are a place to keep warm, meet friends, sit and read and take part in activities.
