About the event

Huddersfield Market is gearing up for an unforgettable evening of celebration as Radio Sangam brings Chand Raat to the Apna Bazaar Night Market!

Chand Raat — the night of the moon — marks the end of Ramadan and the eve of Eid ul-Fitr. We welcome everyone, from all faiths and communities, to join us for this vibrant, family-friendly celebration.

What to Expect

Live Qawwali Entertainment (5 Hours Total)

To improve the experience for both traders and visitors, this year’s qawwali will run in intervals throughout the evening.

The group will perform for 1 hour, take a 1-hour break, and continue this pattern all night.

This gives the crowd time to enjoy the music, then break away to shop before returning when the performance resumes. We’ve listened to your feedback from last year, and this setup creates a much better balance between entertainment and trading activity.

Community Iftar — an open invitation for everyone to come together and break fast

Authentic South Asian stalls selling jewellery, fragrances, hampers, gifts, clothing, and more

Delicious Asian & Middle Eastern food, sweet treats, and refreshments

Free children’s rides

Balloon modelling for kids

A Historic Night

This year is especially significant, as it will be the final Apna Bazaar held at Huddersfield Open Market before major restoration and regeneration works begin.
