History

  1. Halifax Film Society began life as the Halifax Playhouse Film Club, opening in 1966 with Roman Polanski''s ''Knife Under Water''. Since then it has delighted audiences with a huge range of films from Britain and around the world. The Society celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2006 with a reshowing of ''Knife Under Water'' and a talk from one of the original members.
