  1. Brighter Grays is a peer support group for children aged 0 to 21 years who have suffered a bereavement.
There are no waiting lists and no criteria to join. It doesn't matter who they have lost, when they passed away or where you live. Everyone is welcome!

We hold fortnightly group sessions that run for an hour an a half, where we do a multitude of activities, from journaling to scavenger hunts and everything in between.

All children will receive a welcome pack which contains lots of things that we use at the groups, as well as some things to take away and use at home. One of the items is a red lanyard, which is for children to use if they are nervous or just having a bad day and do not want to be spoken to directly. They can still join in with all the activities.
Parent and carers will also receive a pack with information of other services and support.

We have a Mental Health Library that is available to access during the group sessions which houses books from grief, emotions and self confidence to bullying, covid and anxiety.

You do not need to attend the group sessions to access the mental health library.

    We have 4 house rules:
    1. No Judgement
    2. All feelings are valid
    3. Don't speak to someone wearing a red lanyard
    4. It is still okay to have fun!
