History

  1. Pride in Linthwaite began as a small group of residents who refused to accept decline as the village’s future. Formed in the wake of growing concerns about antisocial behaviour, neglected public spaces and a lack of positive outlets for young people, the group quickly evolved into a Community Interest Company with a clear mission: to make Linthwaite a cleaner, safer and more vibrant place to live. What started with litter picks and planter adoptions grew into large-scale projects — from refurbishing long-forgotten benches to restoring pathways, improving green spaces and launching youth engagement programmes shaped by local tragedy and community resolve. Over time, Pride in Linthwaite has become a driving force for regeneration, partnership working and civic pride, proving that when residents take ownership of their village, real change follows.
