Better Buses in Kirklees

    Our 10 point plan
    1. Bring the Bus Services back in the Public Domain (one body running the services)
    2. Planned and co-ordinated routes across Kirklees linking with wider areas in West/South Yorkshire with all the bus companies align to and in agreement.
    3. Profits from popular routes can subsidise areas less busy.
    4. Improve access to transport rural and increase access on evenings and weekends.
    5. Introduce a simple one ticket scheme on all buses. A clearer ticketing system so return tickets can be used on any bus, (include a cap on spending.)
    6. Improve access for disabilities on all levels.
    7. One rule regarding access re prams, bikes etc.
    8. Improve routes and access on and off buses faster routes create higher usage. Look at long-term infrastructures and geographical areas when planning.
    9. Information and communication needs to be improved at all levels.
    10. Cleaner and more environmentally friendly transport stock to safeguard climate change and health.
