  1. Dance Emporium was established in 2012 and has become a hive of dance for the Huddersfield scene. We run classes for ages 2yrs to adults in a variety of modern styles such as; Street Dance, Freestyle Disco, AfroDancehall, Slow dance and Rock n Roll.

    We also run regularly courses such as Heels, Parent and Toddler and adult fitness courses such as our very popular ‘Carnival Workout’.

    In addition to this we hold exam days, take part in local performances and have an annual show as well as attending competitions. Dance Emporium hold various titles such as Regional, Six Nations and National Champions.

    We have 2 fully equipped studios which boast sprung flooring, digital sound systems and these are fully heated throughout along with our large reception and waiting area. Our staff are professional, DBS checked and first aid trained and also deliver dance workshops and after school clubs to children across the Yorkshire area.

If you want to change your venue or add a new one please use the postcode / street name field to see a list of venues. This should cover all venues in Kirklees, but if you can’t find the venue you need please contact Community Directory, and we will advise or add it for you.

News

You can add or amend news items, and the date will change automatically, although you may need to go back into the entry to see the revised date.

To delete a news item, there is a delete option when you press Edit. This currently works only on the headline, and the text field needs to be saved with at least one digit in it, e.g. ‘x’. Alternatively, you can replace it with a new item.

  2. Dance Emporium has several achievements and memories we are proud of:
    • Success at Competitions- winning 1st place with two of our 3 teams at the IDTA Street Dance Qualifers and now heading to the national finals 2014. We have also had groups attending the national final of Britain Does Variety, Got to Dance, and the UDO European Street Dance Championships, Paris.
    • Our teacher won 'Choreographer of the Year' award 2011
    • We regularly organise dance workshops and have attended Pineapple Dance Studios, London this year to enrich our pupils learning
    • We have an annual school showcase
    • Our teachers have been asked to lecture on dance styles at prestigious events such as IDTA meeting and MOVE IT dance convention at London Olympia 2013
    • We have annual school exams for those interested
    • We perform often at local events such as galas, carnivals to stay in touch with our community
