History

  1. History image goes here
  2. Ricky Thwaites formed the club in June 1991 with a £5 football and a lot of help from his friends. The objective was to provide inexpensive football for youngsters from all backgrounds and with just four boys attending his first training session no one could have envisaged that twenty one years later this figure would exceed 500!

He was given the task of finding a suitable club name and his original 'West Side Wanderers' was soon ditched when he was told by his wife that it sounded like 'something from a West End musical'. This gave him the inspiration he had been looking for and in a rare moment of creativity West Side became West End. The masterstroke then came by joining the two words together to make Westend and adding the word Juniors.

For someone whose hero is the great Bill Shankly, choosing club colours was an easy decision to make.

The Club recently celebrated their 21st Anniversary and Stoke City striker Cameron Jerome came back to watch the latest crop of youngsters at the Club where he started his career.
