  1. Aikido is a unique Japanese martial art intended to train the body, the mind and the spirit and can be practiced by both the the young and elderly alike.

Our classes in Kirklees are at:

The Lighthouse Centre: Saturday 5.30pm to 7.30pm

Aikido does not use strength, and we feel it helps to expand mental alertness, develop self confidence and improve levels of fitness. Please contact us or see our website for more details.

History

  1. In 1995 following his return to the UK from Japan where Billy McAuley, Chief Instructor, trained in Aikido for over ten (10) years (from beginner to Aikikai 3rd Dan level), he first founded Asoryu Aikido Club in Hereford. Asoryu Aikido Club is very proud to have UK Shinwakai, Sensei Jack Poole Aikido 7th Dan as its Technical Director. In the opinion of the Chief Instructor, Sensei Jack Poole is one of the world's leading Aikido teachers. The club is equally proud of its Technical Advisor, UK Shinwakai, Sensei Marill Poole Aikido 6th Dan who tirelessly devotes herself, not only to the development of Aikido in all the affiliated Aikido organisations and clubs of the
