Happy Memories Dementia Support Groups and Luncheon Club

  1. Support groups for people with dementia and their carers. St. Andrews Support Group is a voluntary run organisation consisting of 2 twice-monthly activity groups, and a monthly Luncheon Club.

    The Happy Memories Group and The Thursday Friends Group are twice-monthly activity groups for people with a dementia type illness and their carers. They are active, lively groups, with activities designed to stimulate and exercise both body and mind. Carers have a choice of staying for the session or having a break for the session. There is a charge per session which include a sandwich, tea or coffee, cakes and biscuits.

    The Happy Memories Group meets:

    2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at St Andrews Church, Old Bank Road. Mirfield. 12noon to 3pm.

    2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at St Paulinus Church Hall, High Street, Westtown, Dewsbury 12noon to 3pm.

    The Luncheon Club meets every second Monday in the month at Healds Hall, Liversedge. This group allows carers and people with dementia to meet and talk over lunch with others in the same situation in a social environment.
