  1. The Pakistan Association is a voluntary organisation, and is registered company limited by guarantee No 5555348 (England and Wales). Based in Thornton Lodge, it provides help, support and advice to the community, and covers South Kirklees and is a member of South Asian Consortium Kirklees (SACK).

    It provides a number of Social Welfare and Community Projects including:

    Old People's Lunch and Social Club:
    Every Monday: 10.00 hours to 13.00 hours
    Everybody welcomes from Crosland Moor & Netherton Ward

    # Sign posting to service
    # General Advice session
    Runs till at least Monday 31st July 2023. Please check after that.

    "Driving Theory Test". At present we are running this project which is funded by the European Social Fund. Please see link under Further Information for more details.

    Working with different voluntary organisations working in the area to address local issues and provide services

    Providing a local venue for the meeting of the Police Neighbourhood team,

    Free bus trips for over 60s. We went to Llandudno and Blackpool (pictured) earlier in 2022 and we have been funded by the Big Lottery a coach day trip for the elderly and carers to Blackpool next year in July 2023. Please contact jamilakhtar@hotmail.co.uk for details.

History

  1. The Pakistan Association Huddersfield was established in 1987 and the money were raised from the community to buy the centre building. Currently the centre is run by a group of dedicated volunteers. At present the Association has 110 members who are part of a democratic organisation serving the local community in South Kirklees.
