  1. Provides opportunities for children between 4 and 18 years old to take part in coaching sessions and games of rugby league.

    A very successful community club based in the Huddersfield area. Awarded Sport England Clubmark Award in 2003 for Child Friendly environment. Which was further recognised in 2010 with Clubmark Gold Award from the RFL. Many players have gone on to play rugby league at county and international level.

    Partner with many other organisations to provide opportunities for young people wanting to get involved in sport.

History

  1. Newsome Panthers in its short history of just over 15 years has seen itself grow into the most successful junior rugby club in the Huddersfield area.

    Many players have gone on to play rugby league at county and international level. Others have succeeded to play for the associated open age teams or play professionally for one of a number of local clubs. Ex Newsome Panthers include Super League Huddersfield Giants stars and England Internationals Leroy Cudjoe and Michael Lawrence

    The club was the first sports club in Kirklees to be awarded the Sport England Clubmark award recognising it as a child safe environment.

    The club has provided many opportunities for individuals to play, volunteer and officiate over this period.

    Chosen as a Focus Club by the national governing body, the RFL, the club facilities are located at Hall Bower Playing Fields.

    The club continues to grow and provide sporting excellence for over 180 youngsters of all ages.

    The head coach is Darren Fleary (Ex Giants Captain) who develops the coaches at the club.
