  1. A Scout Group providing Scouting for young people in Milnsbridge, Paddock, Longwood and the surrounding areas.

    Open to boys and girls aged 5¾ to 18 years.
    Beavers aged 6 to 8 meet Wednesday evenings
    Cubs aged 8 to 10½ meet Tuesday evenings
    Scouts aged 10 to 14 meet Friday evenings
    Explorers aged 14 to 18 meet Thursday evenings

Normally we add categories for you when the entry is set up, but you have the option to edit them. Very occasionally some categories have restricted usage and we’ll let you know if we feel there’s a problem.

Venue

If you want to change your venue or add a new one please use the postcode / street name field to see a list of venues. This should cover all venues in Kirklees, but if you can’t find the venue you need please contact Community Directory, and we will advise or add it for you.

    2. Either, there are specially marked parking spaces for disabled people, or disabled people can park within 50 metres of an accessible entrance. Disabled parking
    3. There is a toilet with some facilities for people with disabilities but it may not be suitable for everybody. Please contact the group if you need further information. Partially accessible toilet
    The headquarters is completely level with a ramp to the main double doors. We currently do not have a disabled toilet suitable for wheelchair users. We have level car parking for approx 12 cars and on street parking nearby.

History

  1. In 2009 Milnsbridge Scout Group merged with Paddock Scout Group and in 2012 this became the 2nd Huddersfield Colne Valley Scout Group following a further merger with Longwood 27th Huddersfield Scouts.

    Milnsbridge Scout Group was formed in 1919. Harold Wilson was a Scout at Milnsbridge and he opened the current headquarters on Pickford Street in 1982.
