  1. HOOT Creative Arts is an arts and mental health charity organisation, delivering creative activities for mental health and wellbeing.
    From our base in Huddersfield, England, we seek to normalise mental health, support personal growth and promote social change.

    HOOT Creative Arts works in the following settings:-

    Adult Mental Health services
    Older people living with dementia
    End of life services
    Prison
    Young people’s projects
    Community arts projects
    Workplace team building
    Supported living settings


    HOOT Creative Arts is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, current accredited Kirklees Council Creative Partner and delivery partner to South West Yorkshire Partnership (NHS) Foundation Trust (SWYPFT) Creative Minds initiative. We are the provider agency for the Kirklees Arts & Mental Health Service and run many other outward facing projects.

    There is always something going on behind our doors or out in the community, our programme offers singing, writing, visual arts, music, all delivered in an inclusive way, providing space for reflection and growth.

    Creative Expression, making a mark and being seen and heard is fundamental to being human. We believe that we all have a creative and imaginative capacity that is of central importance to our mental and physical health, wellbeing and happiness. Our aim at Hoot Creative Arts is to release this capacity.

    Our mission is to support the development of creativity to build confidence and esteem, encourage personal growth and foster creative expression. We offer opportunities to participate in quality artistic activities with professional artists to explore identity, emotional wellbeing, purpose and meaning in a safe, expressive and welcoming environment.

    Art is the focus, our creative activities offer therapeutic outcomes for all, regardless of experience. We mean that, even if you don’t consider yourself to be creative, we believe that you have the capacity to create and we extend an invitation to you.

    Hoot Creative Arts is a member of the Kirklees Mental Health Partnership of community adult mental health services from the voluntary sector, working together to provide a better mental health service in Kirklees.?

Activities

Regular meetings or activities, usually on a weekly or monthly basis, and exhibitions of more than a week.

Your activities will appear on our ‘Things to do’ pages. You can include any regular ongoing activities that people can join in with, such as scouts and guides, youth clubs, craft groups, dancing, sports clubs and gardening clubs.

If you want to change your venue or add a new one please use the postcode / street name field to see a list of venues. This should cover all venues in Kirklees, but if you can’t find the venue you need please contact Community Directory, and we will advise or add it for you.
