  1. The Civic, Slaithwaite is an iconic building in the village of Slaithwaite within the Colne Valley. It dates back to 1884 and from 1891 became the home of our prestigious Slaithwaite Philharmonic Orchestra. Today the Civic is used for a variety of activities including concerts, music, theatre, dance, fitness, weddings, public meetings and is the base for our local food bank.

The Civic is community owned and not for profit. The building was transferred from the council in 2017 and is run by the Civic Hall Trust. It is a registered charity for the benefit of local people and the wider community.

The building is fully licensed and can offer bar facilities on request. Hirers have complimentary use of the kitchens within the 200 capacity hall.
The main hall at Slaithwaite Civic is fully accessible.
Please contact us for further details of room hire

The Civic are keen to work with, and show our support to, local businesses, charitable and community organisations and groups locally in the spirit of working together to make Slaithwaite a happy and prosperous place.

Please note we currently do not have use of the hearing loop.
