  1. Honley Civic Society is a non-political body which promotes interest in Honley and its surroundings, researches and publishes the history of Honley, highlights environmental issues, and monitors local planning.

    We meet at St Mary’s Church, Church St Honley.
    Second Wednesday of each month from September to May, except December
    Meetings begin at 7.00pm.
    Members free, visitors £2.00.

  1. Honley Civic Society was formed in 1984 with the intention of ensuring that the village developed in a coherent fashion in line with its heritage.

    It is a non-political body, which has grown to over 60 members, and aims to promote interest in Honley and its surroundings through researching and publishing the history of Honley, and by monitoring local planning and development matters.

    The Society highlights green issues, and holds public talks on subjects of local interest.

    The committee meets regularly, examines planning applications, and represents the Society at Parish Council planning meetings.
