  1. Holmfirth Chess Club is a friendly Club for all ages and abilities of playing Chess.
We operate from just outside Holmfirth and would welcome any new players of differing abilities age and sex, to come and take a look at us.

We have a junior club which runs on a Wednesday evening from 6pm-7pm where juniors can learn from our Junior Coach.
Advanced Juniors are welcome on Wednesdays from 7pm – 8.30pm.

The adults night runs from 7.30pm to approx 10.30pm also on Wednesday evenings.
This gives the advanced juniors a chance to improve or even beat the adults.

We play friendlies at club night, but also compete competitively in The Huddersfield Watkinson’s, and Examiner Leagues along with other inter club tournaments.
We also play in the Saturday Yorkshire Leagues at different levels.

We always try where we can to accommodate the juniors, and give them opportunities to play in the Leagues & Competitions.

We have quite a strong contingent of County players at the club also, and again there are levels to suit all players.

Come give us a try, you may surprise yourself.
