  1. For anyone interested in railways and other transport.

    Meetings include talks and digital/slide shows presented by members, invited guests and industry speakers.
    Annual photographic competition.
    Small number of outdoor visits during the summer.

    Visitors and new members always welcome.

    Meetings are held on alternate Wednesdays at 19.30, generally in Huddersfield Town Hall. Please use the Corporation Street entrance.

    On street parking and car parks available near by.

    Easy walking distance from Huddersfield railway and bus stations.

Events and activities

Events

Your activities will appear on our ‘Things to do’ pages. You can include any regular ongoing activities that people can join in with, such as scouts and guides, youth clubs, craft groups, dancing, sports clubs and gardening clubs.

If you want to change your venue or add a new one please use the postcode / street name field to see a list of venues. This should cover all venues in Kirklees, but if you can’t find the venue you need please contact Community Directory, and we will advise or add it for you.

News

You can add or amend news items, and the date will change automatically, although you may need to go back into the entry to see the revised date.

To delete a news item, there is a delete option when you press Edit. This currently works only on the headline, and the text field needs to be saved with at least one digit in it, e.g. ‘x’. Alternatively, you can replace it with a new item.

History

  1. THE HUDDERSFIELD RAILWAY CIRCLE was founded in 1947 by six enthusiasts meeting regularly in each other’s homes.

    Over 70 years later, the Circle still meets once a fortnight, currently in Huddersfield Town Hall.
