Petanque (boules) with Heckmondwike Petanque Club

About this activity

Category: sport The French game of Petanque (or boules) played in Firth Park in Heckmondwike, the home of Heckmondwike Petanque Club since 2012.

It is a game similar to Crown Green bowls, but with steel balls which are thrown rather than rolled. Light exercise. Some strategic elements. A very tactile and sociable game.

If you would like to try the game then come and join us (playing days below) and a friendly face will show you what to do and even lend you some boules. If you like it and want to join then membership is just £20 per year.

We play Saturday from 10am to around 1pm and Wednesday from 1pm to around 4pm.

We also open have open events where other clubs and players attend attend plus social matches with other clubs.

If you belong to a group who might all like to come and try then get in touch and try a coffee & petanque morning, afternoon or evening. We will provide all equipment and advice to help you have a fun couple of hours as a group. Be warned, you might get the bug and want to join!
