Step into Tom McGuinness’s world!

In celebration of the centenary of renowned mining artist Tom McGuinness, discover a breathtaking new exhibition that brings his work vividly into the digital age.

For the very first time our immersive installation brings the iconic artwork 'Children Playing in the Street of a Durham Pit Village' by McGuinness to life. This much-loved scene of one of Britain’s mining communities, an artwork spotlighting community, steps off the canvas through animation and sound.

Explore some of Tom McGuinness’s works in a special free pre-bookable online workshop on Wednesday 3 and Tuesday 16 June.

Beyond the exhibition, discover via a Bloomberg Connects digital exhibition, incredible artworks by Tom McGuinness in the Museum collection that showcase the range of mediums, techniques and themes that he explored throughout his practice.
