The Leeds Waits are a re-creation of the official musicians of the Borough of Leeds, offering unique concerts that shine a light on the lesser-known corners of English and Yorkshire history.

Come along, be entertained, and discover the stories they didn’t teach you at school!

  • Wednesday 29 April 2026 - 11:00am, The Private Life of Henry VII — a delightfully irreverent journey through the courts of Europe as a recently widowed king begins the hunt for a second wife.
  • Wednesday 20 May 2026 - 11:00am, Costume Through the Ages - The Leeds Waits open their personal costume collection to reveal how fashion — from the 17th to the 19th centuries — reflected status, identity, practicality, and changing taste.
  • Tuesday 30 June 2026 - 11:00am, Yorkshire and The Civil War - Through music, narrative, and living history, discover how Yorkshire leaders shaped the conflict, and explore the key battles fought across the county, including the pivotal Battle of Adwalton Moor.
  • Wednesday 15 July 2026 - 11:00am, The Bard and his Music -Step into the soundworld of Elizabethan England as The Leeds Waits reveal the musical life of the world’s most famous playwright.
