About the event
Celebrating Standard Fireworks, the pivotal role of women, and the innovations that made Huddersfield the fireworks capital of the world within its unique authorised heritage landscape.
Presented by Emma Knutzen, a mature student, who began her research on Standard Fireworks during her undergraduate studies at Huddersfield University in 2022. Her dissertation on Standard Fireworks was nominated by York University for a prize with the Association for Industrial Archaeology.
The lunchtime club is an informal meeting of people with an interest in local history. Meetings are held every two months, 1pm on Thursdays, at 16a Victoria Lane, Huddersfield.
