Exhibition by Alexandra Glew at The Media Centre (from June 11th)

About this activity

Showing from June 11th until 16th July 2026

Viewing is free and open to all, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm

We’re excited for this upcoming exhibition by Alexandra Glew, featuring a series of abstract paintings, drawings, and mixed-media works that explore the sensory experience of moving through local landscapes, the shifting colours, fleeting weather, ambient sounds, and quiet rhythms that shape the artist’s connection to place.

Through layered forms, gestural marks, and flashes of colour, each work captures the feeling of a moment in transition. Rather than depicting landscapes literally, the works translate passing sights, emotions, and experiences into intuitive visual responses. The exhibition invites visitors to engage with ideas of place and everyday experience through the interplay of colour, mark-making, and form.

Celebrating slowness, observation, and the subtle emotional resonance of encounters with nature, the works reveal an ongoing exploration of repetition, texture, layered surfaces, and the traces of process over time.
