About the event

Golcar Christmas Light Switch On by The Golcar Winkle Club

Come along and enjoy warm mulled wine and mince pies while the Huddersfield Youth Brass Band fills the village with festive music.

We’re very excited for Santa to arrive on his sleigh and we hope the children of the village will help us with the big countdown before the lights switch on.

Santa will also be making a special stop to hand out Cadbury’s selection boxes to all the children.

Food and festive treats will be available from our fantastic local businesses:

Raymali – serving a great selection of food

Yorkshire Craft Butchery – offering festive bites

Please note: There will be no fireworks display at this year’s event.

5:30pm – Festivities begin, with drinks and mince pies served at our stall

5:45pm – Road closures begin:

• Top of Leymoor Road (traffic diverted up Swallow Lane)

• Top of Carr Top Lane & Knowl Road (traffic diverted to Milnsbridge via Knowl Road)

6:00pm – Santa arrives on his sleigh

6:30pm – Christmas Lights Switch-On!

7:45pm – Roads and Town End car park re-open.
