Event at Huddersfield Library Hub

About the event

Several events are taking place at the Hub after it reopens in its new location in Our Cultural Heart on September 21st.

The main celebrations are taking place the weekend of September 26th and 27th but there are several other events in the Library before and after that.

Dates and venues

  • Monday 21 September 2026 - 2:00pm - 4:00pm, At Huddersfield Library Hub - Talk: Danger: History Ahead! local author and community historian, Christina Longden, will outline how a very personal family discovery resulted in two books and an Al Jazeera TV series.
  • Monday 21 September 2026 - 4:15pm - 5:30pm, At Huddersfield Library Hub - Meet Author Philippa Leathley as she introduces the second instalment of her magical fantasy series Inkbound! Also tips for creating your own stories, and a chance to participate in fun, interactive quizzes and games.
  • Thursday 24 September 2026 - 4:00pm - 4:45pm, At Huddersfield Library Hub - Children's event: Animal Antics with Jake Hope
  • Thursday 1 October 2026 - 4:00pm - 4:45pm, At Huddersfield Library Hub - Talk: Rabbit Holes, Conspiracy Theories and the End of the World. Christina Longden shares the story of a forgotten 19th century sect with a surprising Huddersfield headquarters.
  • Saturday 3 October 2026 - 10:30am - 11:15am, At Huddersfield Library Hub (also at 12pm and 2pm) - Family event: Lost Property Library which invites families into an imaginative world of storytelling and discovery, where every piece of lost property might have a story to tell.
