Reflections Along The Huddersfield Narrow Canal.- Art Exhibition at Colne Valley Museum (from August 8th)

About this activity

Weekends from August 8th to September 6th 2026. Also Bank Holiday.

Artwork by John Warburton

John is a Colne Valley artist who makes drawings and watercolour paintings of the views from the towpath along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.

His work captures the heritage and beauty of the canal and its lasting impact on the character of the Valley. It is a tribute both to the original builders of the canal and to those dedicated individuals who worked passionately to reopen the canal 25 years ago and continue to do so to this day.

He exhibits online and across the north of England and paints from his small studio in Slaithwaite. You may come across him along the canal towpath, painting and sketching on location, or just hiking in all seasons. Come along for the experience and to immerse yourself in this reflective collection. He will be happy to chat and show you his work.
