S2R / Create Space have lots of weekly walks and also various outdoor activities.

Dates and venues

  • Wednesday 24 June 2026 - 1:00pm - 2:00pm, Greenhead Park Wellbeing Walk - each Wednesday in June meet us at the entrance of Huddersfield Leisure Centre for a gentle walk to and around Greenhead Park, and back. Booking required.
  • Wednesday 8 July 2026 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm, Come and join this welcoming social group for a gentle walk, a bit of gardening and some fun, creative activities. Please email: fieldscoordinator@batleymat.co.uk or call: 07497 512801 to book your place.
  • Friday 17 July 2026 - 9:30am - 10:30am, Friday Wanderers ladies group - every Friday in July. Join this friendly, ladies-only group for a scenic walk through Dewsbury Country Park. We can chat, connect and explore nature together. Booking required.
  • Tuesday 4 August 2026 - 11:00am - 1:00pm, Norman Park Outdoor Volunteers - Help us to look after Norman Park. Meet us by the green container near the stream. Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for gardening. Tools and refreshments provided. Booking required.
  • Friday 7 August 2026 - 9:30am - 10:30am, Join the friendly Friday Wanderers ladies-only group to discover scents, sights, sounds and touch on a walk back through time as we look for the park's oldest tree. Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for walking. Booking required.
  • Thursday 20 August 2026 - 7:00pm - 8:30pm, Active Birkby Club Evening Walk - on Thursdays in August - a gentle evening stroll exploring the green spaces of Birkby. Booking essential.
  • Friday 21 August 2026 - 11:00am - 12:45pm, Dewsbury Wellness Walking Group - every Friday in August. Join this self-led group for gentle walks along the river, canal and Greenway in Dewsbury. A chance to take in nature, enjoy panoramic views and historic architecture. Booking required.
  • Tuesday 8 September 2026 - 11:00am - 1:00pm, Greenhead Park outdoor volunteers - Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for gardening. Tools and refreshments will be provided. Booking essential.

  • Tuesday 22 September 2026 - 10:00am - 1:00pm, Outdoor Volunteers - Meet at our Create Space building then travel with us to various community green spaces around Kirklees for practical conservation tasks. Every Tuesday in September. Booking essential.
