S2R / Create Space have lots of weekly walks and also various outdoor activities.

  • Friday 1 May 2026 - 9:30am - 10:30am, Join Waheeda and the friendly, ladies-only Friday Wanderers group in Crow Nest Park to meet The Barrowman Stephen Turner. Stephen is starting out as Artist in Residence in Crow Nest Park. Booking required.
  • Tuesday 12 May 2026 - 11:00am - 1:00pm, Greenhead Park outdoor volunteers - Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for gardening. Tools and refreshments will be provided. Booking essential.
  • Wednesday 20 May 2026 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm, On 6th, 13th and 20th May. Come and join this welcoming social group for a gentle walk, a bit of gardening and some fun, creative activities. Booking required. Also similar event from Manorfield School at 9.30am. See Further Information link for details.
  • Wednesday 24 June 2026 - 1:00pm - 2:00pm, Greenhead Park Wellbeing Walk - each Wednesday in June meet us at the entrance of Huddersfield Leisure Centre for a gentle walk to and around Greenhead Park, and back. Booking required.
  • Tuesday 7 July 2026 - 11:00am - 1:00pm, Norman Park Outdoor Volunteers - Help us to look after Norman Park. Meet us by the green container near the stream. Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for gardening. Tools and refreshments provided. Booking required.

  • Tuesday 21 July 2026 - 10:00am - 1:00pm, Outdoor Volunteers - Meet at our Create Space building then travel with us to various community green spaces around Kirklees for practical conservation tasks. Every Tuesday in July. Booking essential.
  • Thursday 23 July 2026 - 7:00pm - 8:30pm, Active Birkby Club Evening Walk - on Thursdays in July - a gentle evening stroll exploring the green spaces of Birkby. Booking essential.
  • Friday 24 July 2026 - 11:00am - 12:45pm, Dewsbury Library Walking Group - every Friday in July. Join this self-led group for gentle walks along the river, canal and Greenway in Dewsbury. A chance to take in nature, enjoy panoramic views and historic architecture. Booking required.
