Great Get Together (23-25 June 2023)

About the event

We're fast approaching the Great Get Together (23-25 June), the Jo Cox Foundation's summer campaign. We hope you can join us this year to celebrate Jo Cox’s ‘More in Common’ message.

The Great Get Together is all about celebrating what we have in common, what we can achieve together, and the fantastically diverse country we live in. It rejects those forces seeking to divide us and brings together the whole community.

A Great Get Together can come in any form, whether it’s hosting a community planting initiative, organising a small sports tournament or crafting workshop, coordinating a postcard exchange, or opening your place of worship.

While the official Great Get Together weekend is on the 23-25 of June, you can
run a Great Get Together at a different date if you want - just be sure to register it on our website: greatgettogether.org/2023

Get involved!

- Already planning a Great Get Together? Need help spreading the word? Register your event before Monday 5th June, to add your event to our official Great Get Together advert in local newspapers across Kirklees.

- Save the Date! Join us on May 24th for our in-person Community Coffee and Lunch to connect with community groups, individuals, volunteers, and third-sector organisations and learn more about the Great Get Together. Get in touch to find out more.

- In the process of organising a Great Get Together? Take a look at our resources for event ideas and inspiration, like our Great Write/Read Together or Great Watch Together.

- Prefer to be outdoors? In partnership with Yorkshire Dales National Park, we are organising a Great Walk Together in Wensleydale with free transport provided.
Once again, we’ve partnered with Refugee Week to run the Great Walk Together. Take a look at our Great Walk Together toolkit to see how you can get involved.

We hope you have a wonderful time bringing your community together and spreading the #MoreInCommon message of Jo Cox. If you have any questions or want further details, feel free to get in touch by emailing yorkshire@jocoxfoundation.org
