About the event
Join the rangers at Marsden Moor to help them restore the blanket bog habitat by planting sphagnum moss.
This moss holds up to 10 times its mass in water and once it’s established, it acts as a big sponge, holding water on the moor for longer.
Meet at Marsden Park, bandstand at 10am (w3w: https://w3w.co/tonight.proposals.backyards) or up on the moor at 10.30am (w3w: https://w3w.co/siblings.losing.shelter).
There will be a 20 minute walk on to the moor, with some steep sections.
Please bring lunch and plenty of water (hot drinks advised).
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy boots or preferably wellies. As we will be planting into wet areas of moorland. If you can, please also bring your own dibber (eg: a wooden spoon or screwdriver).
If you would like to join us, please email marsdenmoor@nationaltrust.org.uk or book a free space online.
