Marsden Yorkshire Day Weekend Celebrations 2022

About the event

On the weekend of the 5th, 6th and 7th of August there will be events taking place throughout the village, arranged by Marsden Community Trust, Marsden Walkers are Welcome, Friends of Marsden Library, Electric Cinema Theatre, Huddersfield Literature festival, and various local businesses.

Includes stalls in the Mechanics, family treasure hunt, duck race, tractor display, film, karaoke and much more on the Saturday, and a led walk, and Marsden Market on the Sunday. There are also speaker events on Friday evening and Sunday afternoon in the Mechanics.

Dates and venues

  • Friday 5 August 2022 - 7:00pm, An evening with Duncan Stone , cricket historian - in the Mechanics.
  • Saturday 6 August 2022 - 11:00am, Stalls in the Mechanics, family treasure hunt, duck race, tractor display, film, karaoke and much more.
  • Sunday 7 August 2022 - 10:00am, Walk (6.5 miles / 3.5 hours over rough, hilly ground) starts 10am; Marsden Market – all around the village from 12 pm – 5 pm; and an afternoon with Anita Sethi, author, in the Mechanics at 3pm.
