The Holmfirth Film Festival part 2 is from November 8th to 10th with a wide range of films, many of them released in the last year or two.

  • Saturday 9 November 2019 - 12:00pm, Toy Story 4 - Dir. John Lasseter (US 2019, 100mins U) A hugely enjoyable road trip of old and new friends that is a funny and emotional must-see for the young and old alike. An excellent Saturday matinee for all the family.
  • Saturday 9 November 2019 - 2:00pm, Quiet Flows the Don - Dir. Paul Adam (UK 2019, 89mins) Not Russia but the Don in Yorkshire - a documentary about its transformation from Europe's dirtiest river. (Free event - no ticket needed)
  • Saturday 9 November 2019 - 2:00pm, Blond, Blue Eyes followed by The Hitcher - Blond, Blue Eyes - documentary biography of Holland's most famous actor; and The Hitcher - a favourite of Hauer fans.
  • Saturday 9 November 2019 - 2:00pm, Hitsville: The Making of Motown - Dirs. Gabe & Ben Turner (US 2018 112mins 12) A history of the sound of young America from the late fifties to the early seventies.
  • Saturday 9 November 2019 - 2:30pm, Apollo 11 - Dir. Todd Douglas Miller (US 2019, 93 mins PG) Fifty years on, a truly stunning and stirring movie of humanity's greatest achievement with never before seen footage on the big screen.
  • Saturday 9 November 2019 - 7:00pm, Honeyland - Dirs. Tamara Kotevska & Ljubo Stefanov (Macedonia 2019, 97mins PG) The last female bee hunter in Europe must save the bees to restore the natural balance. Macedonia's stunningly beautiful film is a strange ecological fable in documentary form
  • Saturday 9 November 2019 - 7:30pm, Rocketman Singalong - Dir. Dexter Fletcher (UK 2019, 121mins 15) Universally loved epic biopic of the climb from jobbing musician and struggling musician, Reg Dwight, to international superstar Elton John.
  • Saturday 9 November 2019 - 7:30pm, Fisherman's Friends - 12 - Suitable for 12 and over Dir. Chris Foggin (UK 2018 112mins 12) Based on a true story, the uplifting tale of the part-time Cornish fishermen who sing sea shanties for pleasure and find fame and fortune (almost).
  • Saturday 9 November 2019 - 7:30pm, Amazing Grace - PG - Parental guidance Dir. Sydney Pollack & Alan Elliott (US 2018 120mins PG) Shelved and hidden for fifty years, here is one of the greatest musical performances you will ever see from the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin.
